Obituary for Brian C. Hackett

OAKFIELD, Brian C. Hackett, "Shadow", 82, died June 25, 2022 in Houlton. He was born November 25, 1939, in Worcester, MA., the son of Patrick and Ethel (Andrews) Hackett.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, "Shadow" served his country from 1956-1961 during the Vietnam War era. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, building and repairing weaponry and was an avid collector of knives. Brian adored his 3 cats, who brought him great joy and pleasure and he was very proud of the many close friendships he made here in Maine.

He is survived by his children, a son, William Hackett of Webster, MA., a daughter Laura Hackett of Thompson, CT., his siblings, Timothy & Kathleen Hackett of Paxton, MA., and Sharon Sierra, of Worcester, MA., his life-long best friend, Arthur Johnson, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shadow was predeceased by his parents, a son, Brian Hackett, a sister, Carol Desimone, and a brother, Patrick Hackett.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, at 1:00PM, at the Caribou Veterans Cemetery, 37 Lombard Rd., Caribou, ME., with the Rev. Steve Straubel officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Brian's memory to the Aroostook House of Comfort, 18 Green Hill Rd., Suite 1, Presque Isle, ME. 04769.
