MONITCELLO - Dolores L. Codrey, 86, passed away peacefully April 18, 2021 in Mars Hill, ME. She was born April 22, 1934 in Mars Hill, ME., the daughter of Elmer and Viola (Gallupe) Foster.
Dolores held several jobs and retired from the Monticello post office and liked her work there, as she got to see everyone from town as they came through to pick up their mail. Her favorite job of all was that of Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother! She genuinely enjoyed tending to her gardens, crocheting countless items, singing, road trips, having a house full of company, feeding them and making sure everyone got a hug. She was a true people person. She was also a very dedicated member of the Monticello Community Wesleyan Church.
Dolores is survived by her children Bonnie (Randy) Stickney, Brian (Lori) Codrey, Debora Brewer, Lori (Orrin) Putnam, Cynthia Codrey, Clay Codrey, and Stacie (Scott) Durost; her grandchildren Jayson Stickney, Jennifer McKeen, Nicole Pryor, Brooks Brewer, Benjamin Codrey-Duff, Brandon Codrey, Leah Codrey, Lyndsie Durost, Dan DiMambro, Michael Leal, Bailey Glaze, Lindsay Metternich, Michael Holt, Destine Beriau, Eva Mclaughlin, and Tyler Putnam; many great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters-in-law; her siblings, Laurena Viall, Lawrence (Connie) Foster, Janice (Dale) Miller, Betty (Sonny) Cronkhite, Stephen Foster, Susan Mohan, Hal Foster and Brent Foster.
Dolores was predeceased by both of her parents, her husband, Ronald Codrey, two brothers, Roland and James Foster and a grandson, Clayton Codrey.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Jewell Cemetery in Monticello, ME, with Rev. Gardner Smith officiating. At the request of the family, we ask that everyone that plans on attending to wear an article of pink or purple to the service as those were Dolores’ favorite colors.
