Obituary for Rodney Sleeper

Barrington, New Hampshire / Sherman Mills, Maine - Rodney V. Sleeper passed away December 26, 2022 in the comfort of his home, with his family by his side.
He was born on April 27, 1936 in Sherman Mills, ME to Vaughn and Lucy (Durgan) Sleeper. He graduated from Sherman High School (1953) where he excelled in basketball and baseball, and met his wife of 67 years, Faye (O’Roak). They settled on the family farm and eventually became co-owners. Rodney was honored with the Outstanding Diversified Farmer Award for 1986 and served nine years as Farm Credit of Aroostook and Farm Credit of Maine Director from 1988-1997. He semi-retired in 1998, and moved to New Hampshire, where he built his forever home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faye, and their three children, Vicki Randall, James Sleeper and wife Linda, and Vaughn Sleeper and wife Mary; six grandchildren, Craig Randall and wife Ashleigh, Ryan Randall, Willie Sleeper and fiancée Tanya Brown, Dakota Sleeper and partner Kirstin Batchelder, Beth Anne Curley and husband Michael, and Brooke Zeller and partner Scott; four great-grandchildren, Ivy Hoffman, Wren Curley, Lilly Sleeper, and Tatum Sleeper; a sister, Gloria Smith, and her family; a sister-in-law, Mary Sleeper, and her family; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; son-in-law, Robert Randall; and a brother, Edward Sleeper.
An open house celebration of his life will be held at the Randall Home, 19 Colony Cove Road, Durham, NH 03824, on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm.
The family thanks the physicians, nurses, and caregivers at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Cornerstone VNA, and Easter Seals for their extraordinary care and compassion.
